Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a membership and a tokencard?
Two ways to pay ahead, with a different character.
You pay ahead in both cases, but they work differently.
| Membership | Tokencard | |
|---|---|---|
| What you buy | Access for a period | A number of tokens |
| Paying | Recurring, for example monthly | Once per card |
| Usage | Unlimited within what the membership covers | Each ticket costs tokens |
| Ends | At the end of the period, usually with renewal | When your tokens run out or expire |
When to use which
A membership fits regular participants who are there every week. You sign up without checking out each time.
A tokencard fits if you come irregularly. You buy credit and use it when it suits you.
They can also go together
Some organizations combine the two: your membership automatically gives you a number of tokens every week, which you then use for activities.
Which one you need
That is on the activity's ticket itself. There you see whether joining costs money, tokens, or a membership. If the organization works with token categories, your tokens only count for activities in that category.
