Guides
You can link staff as a guide to an activity, so attendees see who leads it.
What they are called in your environment
The term follows what you chose at Settings → General under What type of business is this?:
| Type of business | Term |
|---|---|
| Fitness & sport | trainer / trainers |
| Schools & after-school | teacher / teachers |
| Workshops & courses | facilitator / facilitators |
| Experiences & events | guide / guides |
| Corporate / internal | facilitator / facilitators |
Where you link them
You can set guides on a dotoo, on a template, and on a group.
If something is set in more than one place, this order applies:
- If there are guides on the dotoo itself, those apply.
- If not, those of the group.
- If not, those of the template.
Changes carry through
If you change the guides on a template or group, the upcoming attached activities update automatically.
On a dotoo that follows a template, the field is disabled with a message that the guides follow the template or the group. If you want it different for one activity, detach that dotoo from the template. See Templates.
What a guide is and is not
A guide is information for attendees. No ticket is created for them and the guide does not count as an attendee.
Guides also do not see the activity differently from other staff: what someone can do depends on their role and permissions, not on being linked as a guide.
