Memberships
With memberships you offer subscriptions. Members pay periodically and get access to activities for that, and optionally tokens.
Memberships and variations
A membership has one or more variations. In the variation you set what it costs and which period is billed, for example monthly or yearly. That way you offer the same membership in different terms.
You manage them via Memberships in the menu.
Selling
Members buy them themselves via Memberships in their menu, or via the link play.dotoo.app/bedrijven/jouw-slug/lidmaatschappen that you can share with people who are not members yet. For that, both Stripe and Membership payments must be on at Settings → Payments.
You can also assign a membership to a member yourself from their profile.
Control access to activities
Link a membership to a ticket of a dotoo. Members with that membership can then sign up with that ticket without paying separately. See Tickets and capacity.
Want people to become members only through a membership? Then set registration to Require membership at Settings → Modules.
Manage a member's membership
Open the member at Members. The Memberships card lists their memberships, with Add membership to assign one yourself. Behind each membership is a menu:

Which options you see depends on the membership status. Reactivate only appears for a paused membership, for example.
Pause stops the charges. The next charge date shifts one day every day for as long as the pause lasts, so your member does not lose a paid period.
With Renew, DoToo suggests a new end date one year later. If you leave the end date empty, the membership continues until you cancel it yourself.
Members cannot do any of this themselves; they can take out an expired membership again.
What happens automatically
DoToo updates memberships at night:
- a membership whose start date has been reached becomes active, and a membership whose end date has passed becomes expired
- recurring payments are charged once the charge date is reached
- members get a message one week beforehand that their membership is ending
- if Membership token payout is on, the tokens are added in the night from Sunday to Monday. See Tokencards and tokens
