Templates
A template is a blueprint for an activity you organize more often. You set the title, description, location, tickets, and guides once and reuse that every time.
Create a template
- Choose Templates in the menu. You see your templates as cards side by side.
- Click the gray tile with the plus sign, after your last template.
- Fill in the fields. They are the same fields as on a dotoo, but without date, time, and signup window.
- Add at least one ticket. You cannot save a template without tickets. Title, Location, and Display type are also required, and Category if you use categories.
On a template you later edit everything with the pencil at the top right of the card with the details.
Create a dotoo from a template
Create a new dotoo and choose the template at the top of the form. All fields are filled in; you only add the date and time.
As soon as you choose a template, a message appears that this dotoo follows the template, with the buttons Detach from template and View template. If you want to detach it right away, click Detach from template before you save. The fields then become available immediately.
If you work with groups, DoToo creates the activities automatically from the template.
Stay attached
A dotoo created from a template stays attached by default. The fields the template follows are disabled on that dotoo. If you later change the template, all attached, still scheduled dotoos update right away.
What changes with it: title, description, cover image, location, category, tickets, display type, guides, signup message, reminder, and transaction deadline.
What does not change with it: the date and time of the individual dotoos. Those always stay editable per dotoo.
Detach
If you want to make one existing dotoo different from the template:
- Open the dotoo and choose Actions → Edit.
- At the top of the form a message says you used the template and that disabled fields go through the template.
- Click Detach from template there and confirm.
The template tickets are copied to the dotoo and all fields become available. That dotoo then no longer gets changes from the template.
Overview of attached dotoos
When you open a template, the Dotoos card at the bottom lists the first ten upcoming dotoos attached to it. View all shows the rest.
If you have permission, there is also a Timeline card with all changes on this template.
