Memberships and tokencards

Take out a membership, buy tokens, and use your balance.

Organizations can work with memberships, with tokencards, with both, or with neither. If your organization uses them, Memberships and Tokencards appear in your menu.

Memberships

A membership is an ongoing subscription with an organization. Often there are several variants, for example monthly or yearly.

Signing up

Choose Memberships in the menu. If you are not a member yet, use the organization's link: play.dotoo.app/businesses/name-of-the-business/memberships.
Open the membership and choose the variant you want.
Check out.

Your running membership then appears on your dashboard. If you were not a member of the organization yet, you become one as soon as your payment comes through.

What it gives you

Tickets can be tied to a membership. If you have that membership, you can sign up with that ticket without paying separately. At some organizations your membership also credits tokens every week.

Renewing and stopping

If your membership has expired, you can take it out again from your dashboard. You do not stop or pause a running membership yourself in the app; contact the organization for that.

You get a message when your membership ends in a week.

Tokencards and tokens

A tokencard is a credit of tokens. Tickets for activities can cost a number of tokens instead of money.

Buying

Choose Tokencards in the menu, or use the organization's link: play.dotoo.app/businesses/name-of-the-business/tokencards.
Open the tokencard. You see how many tokens it contains and whether they expire.
Check out. The tokens go onto your balance.

You buy a tokencard while signed in. If you are not a member of the organization yet, you become one as soon as your payment comes through, and the tokens go onto your balance with that organization.

Using

When you sign up for an activity that costs tokens, that number is deducted from your balance. If the organization allows sign-up without enough balance, the deduction happens shortly before the activity.

Expiring

Tokens can have an expiration date. The tokencard shows whether they expire and when. Expired tokens disappear from your balance automatically.

If the organization uses categories, you have a separate balance per category. Tokens from one category cannot be used for activities from another.
